The boys are slowly out growing that crayon eating phase and we needed something to spice up our bath time routine so I decided to break out the bath crayons I bought a few months back.

Winner!



We They had the best time coloring in the bath and it has definitely become a favorite bath time activity. Best part is the clean up is easy and I don't have to worry about the coloring on anything important.

I also love that it is a nice colorful addition to their otherwise boring/stark bathroom.

Water table fun

We got the boys a sand and water table. We fill both sides with water so I guess it's technically just a water table. They love it! But  apparently it's gotten a little boring because this how they play with it now:

(of course we did and they love it as well, but that's for another post)

These are their "cheese" faces, which just make me laugh.

And here they are, happily at play.

Gavin is dipping is hand in the water and then slurping what he can off his fingers. Yes, he does this often. Yes, I've tried giving him a nice fresh clean cup of water which he refuses. Yes, this means I change the water in that table often.


Meanwhile Andrew is trying to stick a piece of chalk down the hole where the umbrella is supposed to go. He succeeded and I haven't been able to get it out yet. Eh, umbrellas are overrated anyway, right?

Andrews favorite part of grocery shopping?

Playing with the milk afterwards. He sits on it, inspects it, and tries to haul it to the kitchen by himself.



My favorite part of this shopping trip?

$.99 pineapple! Yum! 

Easter 2012

I was really looking forward to Easter with the boys this year, it being the first they'd really be able to participate in. Sadly, we were in the midst of hand-foot-mouth (I promise some day I'll stop referencing that) so we couldn't go to our church's Easter egg hunt (sad day!). Instead we had a little impromptu egg hunt at home. First we did one inside, in the boys' room. They loved it and were much better at finding the eggs than I anticipated.



They thought opening the eggs was really cool.



And looking at the treats inside!

Actually eating the treats? not so much. Turns out our fellas don't really like jelly beans and Swedish fish even though their genetics on both sides predispose them to like both of those treats, especially the Swedish fish.

Then we tried to do one outside. ha! It involved very little egg finding and a whole lot of running away down the street. So I'm glad we did the inside hunt first.

It was very fun to watch the boys get into the egg finding. Next Easter is going to be even more fun!

This is one of my all time favorite pictures of our twinsies.



They were acting particularly cranky one morning and it was not even close to nap time. Like any awesome mother would do I put a movie on for them, went off to get some work done and came back to find them sleeping like little angels.

Which I am learning is the general trend in toddlerdom: angel to demon* and back again in 5 seconds flat. It really is quite impressive (and exhausting).

*Demon might be a bit of an exaggeration, but it's quicker to say than "whiny, tired, screaming frustrated 18 month old"

Kite festival

When the boys were at the tail end of hand-foot-mouth we were are getting a bit stir crazy so we decided to check out the local kite festival. The park it was held at was HUGE with lots of open space. It was so nice to be out in the sunshine with so much space to move around.

Whenever we ask Gavin so say 'cheese' for the camera he honks his nose. It's so cute! And it should make the family pictures we're going to have taken pretty interesting...

These pictures capture our boys so perfectly. Andrew will actually hold on to your arms if you try to throw him in the air, while Gavin pretty much loves it.
  

 They also love to stick their fingers in their mouths. 

Hmmmm....looks like we need to do a little practicing for those family pictures.
