I am surprised every day at how much my two little men are becoming their own little people...peoples(?). Writing gets tricky when you have two babies the same age.
Anywho, they are becoming the funniest little guys with their own unique little personality quirks. Andrew is our little at home dominator. I would guess 90% of the fights between these two are because he swipes a toy from Gavin or pushes him out of the way or gets upset because Gavin has the audacity to swipe his own toy back (the nerve!). We've been working on all that and I am pleased to say it has gotten much better! Gav is usually pretty chill at home and will often give up a toy (without complaint) when he sees Andrew coming (sad!). Though he has recently started fighting back a bit, crying when Andrew steals something he really wants (good for him!), and of course hitting, sometimes for no reason other than he feels like it. Though he has started following up his hits with a snuggle (when prompted). At Sam's the other day he hit my hand and then immediately snuggled it (no prompting needed). Made me laugh pretty hard.
So at home Andrew dominates more and Gavin is much more laid back.
Take them out for a walk and boy how those tables turn. Andrew follows directions without complaint (most of the time), will hold your hand when asked and is generally sweet as pie. Gavin on the other hand refuses to hold any one's hand for any reason, loves to walk (or toddle as fast as his wobbly legs will carry him) up the street (away from home) and refuses to walk down the street (towards home) and usually has to be carried screaming (and sometimes kicking) all the way home.
It's because of this that I rarely take them out walking by myself. It's just kind of exhausting to keep everybody on the sidewalk and headed in the same direction. But they love it so much that it's hard to say no. So we compromise and now we go for a little walk (to get the mail) when Dad gets home, weather permitting of course. It's awesome.
{Our little blurs!}
{Andrew delighted to be outside
{Gavin and Daddy}
{Gavin taking a little rest (i.e. refusing to walk home) while Drew waits for him. Drew doesn't like to get too far ahead on the way home and will often stop and wait for Gavin}
Has anyone ever used the leash backpacks? Thoughts? Are they helpful or not so much?
