December 2013: The 3rd birthday

These two crazy wonderful little men turned 3! It seems impossible to get a picture of them both looking at the camera smiling and not wiggling. It has become such a rare occurrence that I'm beginning to wonder if such things are just legend, like big foot, or unicorns. But I digress. So instead I have one picture where each is smiling (2 halves don't quite make a whole in this instance).

Regardless, they sure are cute! This is the first year where I think they kind of get birthdays more. I decorate while they were taking a nap and they were pretty excited about it when they woke up.

We had their absolute favorite food for dinner: PIZZA! Seriously, these boys can down serious amounts of pizza.

Gavin really wanted cupcake and Andrew really wanted a big cake so I obliged and made both! For cake from a box and frosting from a can they turned out pretty cute and tasty.

They had a great time opening cards and presents from us and grandparents.

{books from Grandma and Papa Miles}

{Gavin playing the dinosaurs that came with one of the books}

The highlight of their birthday gifts had to be the Rescue Bots they got from us. They are perfect for preschooler hands (chunky and easy to transform) and anything robot or car related is perfect for our boys.

{Very excited about the yellow race car!}

Then we sang Happy Birthday and blew out candles...3 or 4 times (they loved it!)

The robots were an integral part of the birthday celebration from here on out.

We had a great time celebrating these two crazy boys we love so much. The celebration was simple, but it just seemed perfect for this age. They completely loved having their own cakes so I think we'll have to make that a tradition. Happy Birthday sweet boys! We love you so much!!

April 2013 photo dump

It seems by the time April rolls around we all are feeling a bit of cabin fever from being inside all winter long. What better way to combat than to race down the driveway on a push car. Nate is definitely the fun-maker in our family (I'm a work in progress in this area) and I'm so grateful to have that! The boys LOVED it:

{A daddy tunnel makes it even more fun!}

{Pure childhood joy!}

{Like I said: LOVED IT!}

{Love that sweet face!}

We also indulged in some donuts and let me tell you this boy knows how to enjoy a donut!

{Gavin and his sweet chocolatey face!}

And this what breakfast looks like at our house right now:

{Gavin with his very favorite toys: cars!}

Both boys cram as many toys as they can onto their highchair trays every morning :)

{He's a smidge of car hoarder :)}

{Andrew with his many mixing bowls :)}

January 2013

These boys are so lucky to have such a fun Dad. They insisted on reading stories under the table tonight and of course he obliged.

These three are just the sweetest together!
