This was the year of twos! Our two boys turned two and they had two birthday celebrations!
We celebrated the Saturday before their birthday with Nate's sister and her family. So fun!
The boys started the day off right, relaxing in a cardboard box.

We put together a quick cake to have for the family celebration. Last year we had to really encourage them to eat their birthday cake. This year the cake was a big hit. They didn't need any encouraging to dig right in!

The celebration continued on their birthday. I went in to get them out of their cribs in the morning and for a few minutes I totally forgot it was their birthday (whoops!). Of course I immediately started into a rousing solo of Happy Birthday. They seemed a little confused about why I was singing to them :)

I set up some streamers and balloons for them to run through after their nap. Drew thought it was fun, but Gav was a bit grumpy
After dinner we dressed them in their birthday shirts (Shaun the Sheep!) and attempted to take some pictures. Ha!

We decided to take them to Chuck E Cheese for the first time and they LOVED it!
{Well except for when the jeep started to move. Drew did not love that}
Their favorite game of the night was definitely a race car driving game. They loved playing this with Nate!
Skee ball was another favorite with the boys, but it made me a nervous wreck. Putting very hard balls into the unwieldy hands of two two-year olds is not my idea of a good time :)
We ended the night at the Dollar Tree letting them each pick out a toy with their birthday dollars from Grandma Sue. We had great plans for Shaun the Sheep cupcakes, but decided to spend the time together as a family instead. We topped the night off by having a celebratory bowl of ice cream. We gave the boys each their own bowl of ice cream (a first for them) and it was hilarious to watch them eat it. At one point Drew was blowing on his ice cream like we do when food is hot. Apparently it works to warm up ice cream just as well as it does to cool off pizza. Too cute!
We are so grateful to have these two little men in our family. They are delightful and infuriating (as only two year olds can be). We love them so much!
